Conflict Assessment
Conflict assessment provides a means for identifying the scope of issues through strategic analysis of the interdependent factors contributing to the current situation. Conflict assessment typically involves interviews, in-person or by telephone, with those who are impacted by or involved in the current situation. All conversations are confidential to promote open and honest sharing of information. Analysis of identified issues and recommended approaches for moving forward are compiled and provided to determine next steps.
Facilitation
Facilitation services are provided in order to support group decision-making and planning, to integrate diverse perspectives and to cultivate understanding. Facilitation services are provided for projects involving large groups, multiple stakeholders, public policy and community interests, as well as, small group sessions, unit retreats, board/ leadership planning sessions.
Support for Change Initiatives
Large-scale change initiatives, such as implementation of clinical IT systems; responses to sentinel events; and strategic restructuring, often involve conflict and failure of such projects is costly in terms of both dollars and political capital.
EHCCO provides support to leadership for such endeavors to improve collaborative approaches and decrease frustration through facilitation of critical conversations and design of effective processes for integrating multiple perspectives.
Process Development and System Design
Addressing conflict and disruption requires development of effective processes that allow for early and direct responses that address the issues while respecting professional reputations. Integration of such processes for managing conflict among leadership groups is a required standard for organizations accredited by the Joint Commission.
Facilitating process development and enterprise-wide solutions for addressing conflict at various levels is a key component of conflict competent organizations.
